The Vineyards

Land of Primitivo, breath of Fiano,
SUSUMANIELLO ENCOUNTERS.

The Centovignali vineyards extend for dozens of hectares in the heart of an area with an extraordinary vocation for wine production, between Gioia del Colle, Sammichele di Bari, and Acquaviva delle Fonti, in the localities of Parco Giumenta, San Pietro del Baronaggio, and Macchia delle Sorbe.

HERE Where the earth is red

In the heart of Bari region, where olive groves and vineyards intertwine with castles, cathedrals, trulli, and farmhouses, lies the lower Murgia:

a unique landscape, both simple and majestic at the same time.

This is where Gioia del Colle’s Primitivo DOP wine is born, and this is where Centovignali‘s deepest roots lie.

In Sammichele di Bari, once known as Casa Vaaz, among orderly rows of vines and stone horizons, the land speaks an ancient language.

The light is intense and the roots are deep

Almond and cherry trees, wheat and vines grow luxuriantly despite the harshness of the soil, nourished by the patient work of a farming civilization that has turned hard work into a form of beauty.

It is a landscape of balance and light, where every cultivated field is a declaration of love for the land.

A land that rewards those who respect it with intense wines and stories that have been handed down for generations.

primitivO

Primitivo di Gioia del Colle has its roots in the 18th century, when Abbot Indellicati discovered an early-ripening grape variety and renamed it “Primitivo.” Today, it produces intense, structured wines that are an authentic symbol of the Murgia region.

FIANO

A native white grape variety from Puglia, Fiano (or Fiano Minutolo) has recently been rediscovered. It produces elegant, fresh wines with distinctive aromatic notes that reflect the light and richness of our land.

SUSUMANIELLO

Susumaniello is a black grape variety.
The bunches are medium-sized, with bluish-black berries.
The wines produced are ruby red in color, often with purple highlights. The bouquet reveals fruity notes of plum, wild berries, and red fruit jam.

This is where our Primitivo, Fiano, and Susumaniello grapes come to life, native varieties that express Puglia with intensity and finesse.

The vines are trained using the spurred cordon method, with a density of about 6,800 vines per hectare and an average yield of 70 quintals: a balance designed to ensure quality, aromatic concentration, and varietal identity.

The soils, located at an altitude of 330 meters above sea level, are calcareous-clayey, rich in iron, magnesium, and mineral salts.

This composition gives structure, flavor, and longevity to the wines, respecting the most authentic soul of the Murgia.
